VERKA MILK PLANT

On 23rd November, 2015 a trip to Verka Milk plant was organized as a part of the HEALTH AND WELLNESS club activity. We gained lot of knowledge about milk and milk products. We enjoyed a lot. We were also  provided with refreshments.

On 5th November,2015 a diya decoration competition was held by class 6. This was an individual activity.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

This year class VII was given the duty to organise the Independence Day programme and they made every effort to make it a memorable show. They performed various enactments, songs, and dances and recited poems all in patriotic favour. Mr.Pawan Kumar Bansal was the chief guest and the guest of honour was Prof.Devi Sirohi, chairperson Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the flag and the release of the tricoloured balloons. Students then proceeded inside the auditorium and bowed their heads before the Almighty to seek blessings for the country and its people, there was a short enactment on the topic "CHILD LABOUR" followed by a motivating poem and finally the foot tapping dance on "MILE SUR MERA TUMHARA"which showcased national integrity. The show ended on a philanthropic note when bicycles and sanitary kits were distributed to the under privileged children, this was done in collaboration with Yuvsatta,a city-based NGO.

TABLE 

TENNIS TOURNAMENT

Carmel Convent’s very own Table Tennis Tournament was organised in the school Auditorium on 4th and 5th July wherein 16 Schools from the tri-city participated. The tournament started off with an energetic dance performed by the students of Class 7 followed by a speech ‘Importance of Sportsmanship’ by the School Sports Leader, Mani Mehtab Dhaliwal. The school sports teachers Mrs Ranjeeta, Mrs Kamal  and Ms Baljinder along with Ms Naina, Ms Richa Ma’am and Aditya Sir were the officials for the same. Principal Sister Maria Swati played the first serve to commence the matches. The first match was played between Carmel Convent and Aurobindo School followed by a series of matches between the other schools. The most intriguing and interesting match was final played between Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School Sector 26 and Carmel Convent. The winners of the tournament were the team from Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School Sector 26, the second and third position was bagged by Carmel Convent School and The Millennium School respectively. The Principal congratulated the winners and awarded them with medals and Mother Veronica Trophies..

French Fest






Every year 14 July is celebrated as the independence day of France. We all being French students celebrated this day with great excitement. A fancy dress competition was organized for the students of classes 6 to 8.The topic for the same was France and we were allowed only to use the language French. Though we did not know much about the language, we all tried our best. Our hardwork changed into success when we were awarded the 3rd prize. Because of this competition we learnt so many new words in French. We thank our teacher Aditi Ma'am for organizing it.

Stop Child Labour



 C.B.S.E organized a competition on the topic stop child labour. Class  6 was supposed to make a poster for the same.We made many beautiful posters and also gained more knowledge.








Throw Ball Match




On 23rd and 24th July, throw ball matches were organized.They were as follows:on the first day between Satya and Namrata and on the second day between Nirmal and Ekta. All the teams played very well but Namrata and Ekta were the real winners. The final match between both of them will be held on 15th August.So let's all hope for the best.Finally Ekta was declared as the winner.

Carmel Feast

Every year 16 July is celebrated as Carmel feast. There were many competitions organized for the same. They were Wealth Out Of Waste and a Western Dance competition. Our class won the 2nd prize in wealth out of waste. There was also a program which reminded us the sweet memories that we had with Carmel.



Health Threat




Health is Wealth,was proved by the students of class 6. We all inacted some scenes to show how we damage ourselves,like by smoking etc.Our class group also won the second prize...


Visit To The Post Office



We were extremely surprised when were told that we had to visit the post office. Since the Indian Post was celebrating a digital week,we students were invited to visit the post office and see how all the work goes on over there.We thank Sr.Swati for allowing us to visit the post office.

Thanksgiving Card Making 

A card making competition was organized on the topic thanks giving. We had to make a card to thank the person who help us a lot.We were thankful to everyone who organized it.



Farewell of Sister Sushmita

Farewells never mean good bye they mean we'll surely meet again. We all were very sad when we were told that our dear teacher Sr. Sushmita was about to leave.We hope that we would meet again. Now you won't be among us but we assure you that we will always keep your teachings with us.We will miss you sister.
